California - I spent half of my life living in California. I went to all of Middle School and High School, and what college I completed was completed here. While living in California, I met all of my friends, worked for Apple, LucasArts, and Sonic.net, and had some bizarre and amazing adventures. There’s nothing at all like living so close to the Redwood Forests and the Ocean. I never realized just how liberal the area is, and how completely removed the world is from religion out there. People are spiritual, but religion does not direct movement. I miss that a lot. Plus, California has Catalina Island, my favorite place, and San Francisco, a world class city.

Michigan - Michigan is where I live now. I have family here, and expected to be able to fairly easily meet people here, so when I hit rock bottom in California, it was the obvious choice. I live in a small suburb of Grand Rapids called Grandville. I work as a Mac Genius at the local Apple Store. Eventually I want to be able to save the money to return to California. I’ve been here since May 9th, 2007. My parents live here as well, and for being part of the midwest, I’ve found that people are generally tolerant, and that there’s an alternative community to be found if you bother looking for it.
